We are an independent group of scholars dedicated to encouraging and publicizing research in the field of Mormon women's history. We sponsor community and networking events, maintain a database of work in progress and names of interested scholars, organize sessions and presentations at scholarly meetings, and otherwise promote the development of work in this burgeoning field.
The Mormon History Association (MHA) is issuing a call for papers for the Silver Award for Mormon Women’s History. The Silver Award will be given to the author of an outstanding article published in 2011 on the history of Mormon women. This award includes a prize of $350. All submissions should be sent electronically (as either a Word or PDF document) to subcommittee chair Sheree Bench at shereebench@msn.com. Submissions should include a cover sheet detailing the author’s name, contact information, affiliation, etc. Submissions must be received by February 15, 2012, to be considered. Awards will be presented at the MHA annual meeting in Calgary, Alberta, Canada June 28-July 1, 2012.
